What are our Family Sessions like?
Varied!
My family and children sessions are some of my most enjoyable and memorable work.
I really enjoy capturing a good mix of naturally posed and candid imagery at each of my sessions,
especially when young children are involved.
I pose in a way that makes your images look natural but also showcasing everyone in their best light.
Whether you’re after a traditional studio portrait experience, or an outdoors session, each session is designed around your family.
Young children are given the freedom to express themselves within my sessions. I’ve had kids up to their knees in mud and I’ve had kids drenched head to toe in the surf. They may leave their session needing a change of clothes, but their smiles will last forever. There’s no pressure for them to be anyone or anything except themselves. We encourage giggles and laughs, but we also embrace those who prefer a more serious look. Both are absolutely beautiful.
The little girl in purple below was such a live wire! In this image both her cheeks are actually stuffed full of popcorn 😉 Her beautiful big sister in pink was such a darling and we formed a team on how to get her little sister to play with us.
Where are sessions held?
My studio is located in Padbury, Perth, Western Australia (North of the River – which is close to Hillary’s Marina). Our outdoor sessions are generally held near Ocean Reef & we have several park options should you prefer this to a studio session.
What times are sessions available?
Studio sessions are generally Monday – Friday & start at approximately 10am. Some limited weekend spots are available.
Outdoor Sessions are strictly 40 minutes prior to sunset! (The light is best at this time! Can’t argue with mother nature!)
Weekends are limited so don’t delay in securing your session if you want a weekend slot.
Don’t discount Winter for Family Portraits!! The beach is less windy and, being in Perth, we don’t generally have awful weather that often 😉

I never had maternity images done professionally and I never had newborn pictures professionally done either.
Seriously, I regret this.
I mean, I have the “holding the phone in front of the mirror” shots, but it’s now, 10 years on and over the pregnancy stage of my life, that I long for a truly beautiful memory of that time.
I wish someone would have told me how important this would be to me later on!!!!

Assurance for parents with young kiddo’s:
I am very experienced in photographing young children, please do not worry if you have lively ones or super shy kids.
I have photographed hundreds and hundreds of children & I have 2 of them myself. I know how to quickly build a connection with children and create a fun session! I am so flexible with kids and really encourage them to be themselves so that we can capture authentic memories!
To keep my skills up I photograph a few or my favourite daycare/kindy centres each year. You can imagine photographing 300 kids in 4 days definitely requires skills in putting children at ease and capturing natural smiles!!
Our sessions are fun & NOT STRESSFULL!!
